Happy Last Week of 2016!

Happy Almost 2017!

How have you guys been? I've missed you :) I've been hanging at my house and spending time with the kids and family and we are just chilling.  This morning I decided to sit down and plan 2017 classes for the first quarter of the year! Guess what? I am keeping the 6pm class on Tuesday and will resume Friday classes.  This will be the basic schedule from 1/3 to 3/31 where I will revisit the schedule again and accommodate our needs :)

Tuesdays: 6pm Zumba Toning and 7pm Zumba
Thursdays: 6:15pm Insanity and 7pm Zumba
Fridays: 6pm Cardio Sculpt and 7pm Cize Live
Saturdays: 8am Zumba

But please check the weekly schedule on Monday's as classes are subject to change.  Here is January's schedule (no excel at home so manual calendar :)

So let's rewind a little bit..FIRST, I have added a new class format called Cardio Sculpt - what is this? you may ask and you will wonder how it differs from Zumba Toning.  Well Cardio Sculpt focuses more on strength training  with interval training principles.  There is no dancing and more drill based cardio sections.  We will be using 3lbs dumbbells.  I am extremely excited about this class.   

You will also notice in January that there is no class on Friday the 13th! I will be heading to San Jose for a Master Class with my favorite Zumba jammers (and Zumba Convention Presenters) Meli AND Jhon it's going to be a good way to kick off the January Fitness craze :) Hopefully you guys can join me!

*DRUM ROLL* AND speaking of kicking starting 2017 please come out and join Javier, Jackie Sprague, Faye, Charito and  myself as they come out to TrueFit and dance with us :) 90min of Zumba to get 2017 started! 

This is a special event so the fee for this class is $10

Schedule 12.12.16

Good morning!
Hope you all had a great weekend. First off thank you for coming out on Saturday morning to Crunch and supporting our Toys for Tots events :) 

This is week is our last week before the Holiday break.  Please note that this Thursday is a FREE day! so come out to sweat and shake! 

This Saturday I am also going to an event in Milpitas for Bombay Jam! (Bollywood dance fitness!) I have a few of you that wanted to come, the tickets are available so make sure to purchase. If you didn't know about it, but are now seeing the announcement, buy your ticket! it's going to be FUN!

You can also still work out with me on Monday 12/19 and 12/26 at Crunch San Lorenzo at 6:30pm for Yoga Sculpt and 7:30pm for Zumba! 

The first class of 2017 will be Monday 1/2/17 at 9am! Join Charito and I as we welcome Faye, Javer and Jackie as our Guest instructors!

I also wanted to give you a heads up that on January 9th class cards will have a slight increase - so you have this week and first week of January to purchase cards at the current prices (limit 1 10 class card for $50 or 1 20 class cards for $95).   I am also offering a "special "  until 1/8/17 and that is to purchase 2 class 20 class cards for $180

New prices effective 1/9/17:

10 class cards: $60 ($6 per class) 
20 class Card: $105 ($5.25 per class)
Drop in will remain $8

Week of 12/5/16

Happy Holidays!!! YAY! for me it's Christmas month and I am excited about it.  Here is this week's schedule at TrueFit:

Also this Saturday Charito and I are doing a Zumba class at 10am at Crunch San Lorenzo, this is open to everyone! all you have to do is bring an unwrapped toy :) 

Next week is the final week at TrueFit before we break for the Holidays :) So our final class is Saturday 12/17, however I do want to give you guys a Thank you for all the support this year so on Thursday I will give you a free 90min Zumba class :) and for those that are hardcore I will still have a 30min Insanity class before .  

I will be teaching at Crunch on Mondays so you if you miss me during the last 2 weeks of December you can catch me there at 6:30pm for Yoga Sculpt and 7:30pm for Zumba.  

Our first class of the year is on Monday 1/2/17 at 9am! and we have special guest instructors joining us! Javier, Jacki Sprague and Faye! 

Don't forget on Saturday 12/17 there is a Bombay Jam Master Class! I am really excited about this one! you know I like my bollwood music :) hope you can join me, you can purchase tickets online

Week Schedule 11.28.16

Good morning!

Hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving break! and thank you for braving the cold and the rain for coming out on Saturday morning and dancing with me for 90min.

Thanksgiving Schedule

Happy Thanksgiving Week! 

Here is this week's schedule:

Saturday is a 90min class and I will be adding some toning during the middle of the class *YEAH* 

This is an awesome week, I am looking forward to winding down just a bit and hanging out at home.  I am not one that likes to spend her time in the kitchen, BUT there is something of preparing the Thanksgiving dinner (and Christmas dinner) that I enjoy and find therapeutic.  

Enjoy your time with your loved ones, but I also expect to see you in class :) This is no week to be sedentary - yeah I am calling you out LOL.

Week of 11.14.16

Happy Monday!
Here is this week's schedule:

Since last week's Cize class was cut short, we are doing it again this Tuesday! there is no 6:15pm class on Thursday! Thursday come out and Shake it with Nessa! she will be subbing for me! 

This past weekend was one of the best! It was so much fun, sooo tiring, but just very good for the soul.  For many of our Zins it was like a mini Zumba convention, except that instead of walking we are driving all over the Bay! LOL and we also got to share the Master Classes with students :)

Friday Night: 90min Master Class with Meli, and guest jammers Ashley B and Diego from NY

Saturday was an INSANE day! but in a good way.  I was talking to my son Omar the other day and he was complaining of muscle soreness. I was telling him that he needs to keep moving and push through it.  I told him, 90% of the time I am sore and I CRAVE that feeling, I told him call me crazy, and he did! LOL anyway Saturday the schedule was my 8am class with you guys, then ANOTHER 90min Master Class with Meli, Rob and Diego AND Ashley B, then we head out for a 3 hour zumba jam session with Meli and Rob, THEN the day ended with a 90min Zumba Toning Fundraiser raising funds for 
Pancreatic Cancer.   This is a cause very dear to us as we are supporting a very dear Zin member.  After the fundraiser another Zin surprised us with the cake that I was dreaming of! Churro Cake! Saturday was tiring, fun and super delicious.

You would think that a day after Saturday I would have been done, and your right! however when Rob is in town and is partnering up with Meli, you don't skip plus the playlist from that jam session was too good to pass, I went back for more dancing! this time it was a 3 hour jam session in Daily City! 

Thank you for those that were able to join me during the Master Classes, I hope you enjoyed these wonderful jammers who's energies are just awesomely insane!

Week of 11.7.16

Good morning,

Here is this week's schedule at TrueFit:

Please note that I switched up Tuesday and Thursday for this week only as I really want to bring a new Cize round this week, but I need days to practice. So with that said Tuesday is an Insanity day and Thursday is a Cize Live day :) both days start at 6pm.  

Saturday evening TrueFit (me) will be at Triple Threat for a Zumba Toning Fundraiser with Jeanne, Ashley, Dee Young, and Robin - it's going to be a FUN EVENING! this cause is close to our hearts as we support Jeanne.  There will also be prizes and raffles so bring extra cash! I really hope you guys can join! 

This Friday I will be going to a Master Class with Meli and Rob - these Venezuelan duo are amazing so make sure to get your tickets, it's almost sold out

Personal Journey: Well my goal this week is to wake up everyday with intent of crushing this goal: 2 weightlifting days.   As Chalene Johnson would say "it's not that your getting old that your metabolism is slowing down, it is because you are loosing muscle"   My motto this week:   Muscle burns fat!

Week of 10.31.16

Good afernoon!
It's November AAAAAAA!!! can you believe it?! sorry it took me long to update the blog this week, but lots of stuff at home and at work, but here it is! Here is the schedule for the rest of the year!

You will notice a 6pm class on Tuesdays! this is for the rest of the year only and that is to offset the fact there will be no Friday classes from now until we break.  Normal schedule will resume in 2017.  

Also on Saturday 11/26 we are having our After Thanksgiving BURN Class I have it schedule for a 75min, but we can extend it to 90min depending how we feel ;)

Our last day of class will be Saturday 12/17 we come back with a special 90min class on Monday 1/2/17 at 9am! 

I have more stuff to say, but I will do so next Monday :) for now don't forget there are 2 classes tonight starting at 6pm! So let's do this!

Week of 10.24.16

Good morning TrueFit friends! 
Just one more week before Halloween! WE have changes coming up for the rest of the year, but before I get ahead of myself, here is this week's schedule: 

My Saturday morning crew wanted a class so I am doing a fitness class a combination of different formats, so come out and WORK before we PARTY at 5pm!  So yes, this Saturday is our Halloween Zumba Party! I have a few guest instructors! 

I am going to be dropping names so make sure to check the FB page every day.

So lets get started with the annoucements, I have a few so please stick with me:

In November and in December I have several Friday's cancelled due to Zin Jams, Zumba Master Classes and family activities.  So this upcoming Friday will be the last Friday of the year at @TrueFit -- Friday's will resume starting in January.  My Friday crew loves the Friday classes so I will be adding a Tuesday 6pm class and we are going to be alternating.  One Tuesday it will be toning, the next Tuesday it will be Cize.  So if you have been curious about this formats Tuesday nights (starting next week) will be your chance! Next Monday I will post the full November schedule so you guys can plan accordingly. 

That Brings us to December! The last day before the Christmas break will be December 17th! I will have a special "before we break" class and a "welcome back" class on January 3rd.  More details to come on that next month.  

Also stay tune for some Class Cards price sales for January -- I'll post about the sale in the first week of December

One of the master classes I will be attending in November will be with ZJ's Meli and Rob! the dynamic duo! you guys dont' want to miss this! I will be carpooling from my home so I encourage you guys to come! we can meet there or if you want to carpool with me that's also cool! - Get your tickets!

Personal - Journey
So some of you know I had injured my right leg about 2 weeks ago, but last week was when I really started to get worried, and I got subs for a few of my Zumba classes to rest up my knee.  I also did a lot of pampering to my leg.  At first I really did think that it was my knee but after my acupuncture session (which I am going to take a 2nd one this week) she did something that release something and my knee felt A LOT BETTER, but my hamstring and calves were SUPER Sore and they did feel like they were pulling in a not so good way.  I also did some Float Therapy  on Wednesday night and Saturday night -- one word-- AMAZING! please try it! sooooo relaxing! and on Thursday I did some Cryotherapy during my lunch break, quick and easy, and will probably go again sometime during the week.  I also bought a knee brace based on several recommendations.  I do have some but they don't really work, they are the sleeve kind, and they just really cut into my thigh and calve, this time I bought one that wraps around, and I noticed yesterday that when I wear it when I sit down my knee doesn't stiffen at the time I get up.  When I take it off and my knee feels a little bit stronger.  But I am still modifying, so this week you will notice my playlist has a lot more low impact.  

This Saturday I also went to my Strong by Zumba training.  I took it easy and modified through out.  But this format is so very doable! there is the regular "class" but the songs have "Switch outs" which can either be modified moves or progressions to make the move more of a challenge.  One of the things I learned on Saturday was not to say "I am not strong enough" or "I am weak, I can't do that" yes you can! you are just not trained for it we fix it by getting you trained.  And as your group X instructor my job is to structure the class with the appropriate "switch outs" to make you feel successful and get you stronger to to be able to do the more challenging moves as you progress.   So now it's just a matter of time for me to practice and get the class ready for you!

Week of 10/17/16

Good morning!
Hope you all had a great weekend.  I had a good weekend too. However about 9 days ago, I had a slight injury on my knee and it feels "more" strained this morning.  I need to rest it up because this Saturday I have the Strong training.  So with that said, I am trying to get Charito to sub my class tomorrow but (dont' worry) class won't be cancelled.   IF I can't get a sub I will just adjust our playlist :) no worries.  Also since I do have a Strong training on Saturday I am also trying to find a sub for you guys...for now the class is tentative, please check TrueFit FB page on Friday night where I will post if its happening or not.  

Don't forget in 2 weeks we have our Zumba Halloween Glow Party!

Week of 10.10.16

Good morning!

Happy Tuesday! I had a day off yesterday so didn't get a chance to post this week's schedule! PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO 6:15 INSANITY CLASS ON THURSDAY NIGHT! 

Where will I be on Thursday? well I will be heading out to San Ramon to celebrate Zumba style the birthday of one my Zin family, Charito will be joining me so Nessa will be subbing for me on Thursday! get ready to sweat and fill the TrueFit dance floor with energy! 

Last Friday and Saturday I went to 2 jam sessions with Jhon Gonzales. He is one of the best jammers out there, and we are lucky to have him in California, and he comes 1x (maybe 2x) up to the Bay Area.  He is the presenter of the Zumba Convention session called Latin Urban. So lots of Latin rhythms with funky/electronic/world music elements.  With that said I am having conflicts with my I created 3! we will dance to these randomly in the next upcoming weeks. 

On Saturday night we are celebrating Halloween Zumba style! Charito and I are getting ready for you and we have some special guest instructors!  so reserve your spot!

Week of 9.26.16

Good morning!
Happy Monday! I am excited to start this new week!.  Last week was a good week for me I was able to stick with my plan during the week, and then in the weekend I was able to splurge and not feel guilty.
