Les Mills, Turbo Kick and ZUMBA!

Hello Friends!

Oh man, I haven't blogged in a while! There is sooooo much to tell!

The month of February has been like a "wild ride" LOL - so many things, at work, at home, and I've developed a flair for the dramatic!  and I really do need to tone my self down, mostly this dramatic side of me has been at home. But I have not let all the happenings and going at home and work affected my workout schedule, and that's a plus for me!

Okay, where to start?

I am continuing with Les Mills! Last night I did my first ever 55min workout with Les Mills doing Pump Revolution, LOVED IT! it was the 1st workout that I do that has biceps and triceps tracks! My arms are super sore today.  I made this video of my 2 favorite moments of the pump & shred! What I am loving of Les Mills Pump is that my lower body is getting AWESOME results! as well as my chest muscles, I am looking forward to start seeing changes in my arms!  I do need to say that if you have been in the fence of ordering Les Mills Pump, let me give you a little push ;) the introductory price is going up, so now would be the time to go for it! If your ready click here

Now for the Turbo Report! I finished learning Round 48 of Turbo Kick, and I feel like am doing something totally brand new! in fact I am going to change up my routine of a combination of TK 38 and TK 44 for my Monday class, and introduce them to TK 48! My students are going to LOVE IT!   My favorite part of TK 48 is the Finale!!

I did receive Round 49 this week, and I've learned the punches section, so far so good! I'll post about TK 49 later ;)

NOW FOR THE BIG DRUM ROLL!! I got certified in ZUMBA!!! YAY BABY! I am super excited about this new certification.   I loved zumba back in the day...I had Beto's very first DVD's in Spanish! so this is a big deal, although I haven't zumba in a while, I though that it would be a nice addition to my cardio.  So far I've learned the choreography for 4 songs! I still need to practice them more so that if feels more fluid before I tackle my 5th song.

That has been my Fitness for February!

OH, I also started a challenge group with 5 of my friends, we are doing the Brazilian Butt Lift  this is our 3rd day, and we are all very excited!!  If you would like to learn more about the challenge groups I am creating make sure to friend me on facebook and ask for deets!

Here is my workout schedule for the month of March!

Until next time!

Day 2 of Chalean Extreme

Good morning!

Well today is my rest day from Chalean Extreme!   When I woke up this morning, my chest muscles were stiff and sore!  YAY! I welcome the pain...it's been a while since I felt that kind of soreness in my upper body.

Per the Chalean Extreme schedule, today is my rest day, but  I didn't NOT want to do anything so I  decided to do my Cardio!  What's my favorite cardio?  well if you haven't figure it out already its TURBO! Turbo Jam (which is really for beginners) Turbo Fire, and of course now Turbo Kick!  Since I am now a certified instructor, I get all the awesome music and choreography and I practice to my hearts content!  Speaking of which, this past Saturday I got to showcase the punching section of round 44, a special thanks to Anita the TK instructor that teaches TK on Saturday mornings at the San Mateo Sports 24hr fitness!  It was a great natural high for me to get front and center and showcase that punching section.  I am naturally a quite girl...not one to seek attention.  I remember when I was in 5-6th grade there used to be a talent show at school, I would happily watch my friends practice their dances, but in no way would I have volunteered to participate!  although, thinking back I did participate in the 6th grade Drill Team and we performed for the school. That was so nerve racking!   After it was done I remember thinking to myself, well that's the last time I bring attention to myself! but I must say that I must secretly enjoy being front in center, because in middle school in Mexico I was part of the "escolta" which is a Mexican tradition, kinda like saying the pledge to the flag every morning, but in Mexico its on Monday mornings, and the escolta brings out the flag and then the school sings the national anthem before starting the school week.   So I guess I am a "front and center closet girl" that hasn't come quite come out and declare that she enjoys to perform for the world to see ;)

Turbo Kick Certification! - Did I pass?

Hello Friends,

Well this Sunday I went to East Palo Alto's YMCA facility off of University Ave on Bell St to get myself some Turbo Kick Certification.  I went with my good friend and fellow beachbody coach Denise Romero.  We left Hayward around 8:15 and made good time.  We arrived around 8:40'ish.  We got there, signed in, got our packet, and started talking to the other people!  Some were already instructors with other formats and wanted to add Turbo Kick to their repertoire.  It was a long day! But a fun filled one!

Our presenter was Doris Estremera, which I must say was an excellent presenter. Made us feel relax and comfortable, and even though she was a bit pregnant she still brought it when it came to delivering the actual workout.  She kept saying, "I am not going to go all out because its not good for me to over do it" but man! she brought it! her energy and intensity was phenomenal! (can you tell Chalene's vocabulary is rubbing off on me?) I can only imagine her going all out when she is not pregnant :)  anyway our day started like this:

1. Lecture
2.  Went over form and Technique with the 4 basic punches and Kicks
3.  Worked on our own punches and kicks - the ones we felt we needed more practice and Doris would walk around giving us some pointers.
4.  We then went for the actual workout! we did Round 44, and its the round that came with our registration.  It was a great workout! and I've never done an actual Turbo Kick workout.  I've done Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire in the comfort of my own home...and Turbo Fire at the Beachbody summit, but never an actual Turbo Kick.  It was totally amazing, I kept screaming and saying "YEAH" Doris called my name "hey Carmen how are you doing back there" and I was like "GOOOOOOD" in a what I think was a deep tone of pitch, at least I think it was low and deep, LOL that was the intention anyway...
5. Break for lunch and to purchase some Turbo Wear.  I got myself a waffle short, and 2 tanks that read "Turbo Saved Me" in Red and "Turbo Everyday" in Hot Pink.  For lunch we just had a peach, string cheese, and a granola bar and yes 1 little brownie.
6.  Lecture, went over our study guide, broke down the Turbo Sections, and divided up into groups to learn a specific section.  We each got to lead in our little group, then got to actually lead in the class.   That was a great experience.
7. Practical Test - she went one by one (in rows) and evaluated our form and technique for each of the basic punches and kicks - now that was nerve racking.  And I was tired from the day, and actually sore too.  But I gave it my all, I wanted to prove that I've listened to Chalene when she says keep your shoulders up, pivot to protect the knees, and I think I did not "scoop" in my punches and effectively demonstrated the push side kick vs a roundhouse kick.
8.  Written Test

Then we got to go home, I was exhausted! but felt very proud of myself, it was a great day!  But what made the whole day special, is that I got home and the kids were like "how did it go?" and Angel was also very interested, it is great to have their support in my journey :)
And now to wait for 2-4 weeks to get my results!

Am I evolving?

“Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.” - Earl Nightingale I borrowed this quote from a very good friend of mine on facebook (Shout out to Leslie! :) ...I've had an emotional  week, but filled with good energy! I've realized so much,  that I have no idea where to start telling you my breakthroughs! lol Its a good weird feeling. I feel like I am bursting with energy, but because by nature I am just such as quite mellow person that I don't know if people who see me can tell that I am about to burst out of my bubble! but  I am!

I decided to respond  to my own coach, and accept a challenge she posted.  The challenge was to become Diamond in the next 7 days!..now to give you some background of myself, I am a very religious/spiritual person.  I believe in God 100%, and I do talk and pray to him everyday.   Now do I belong to a church? no....I do however consider myself catholic since I was raised within that church, but I digress.  My point is this, just on Monday I was talking/praying to God to help me and my two sponsor coaches move our business into the right direction.  I told myself, I need to sign up a coach this week to lead by example! And then here comes Coni (my coach :) with this e-mail, reaching out to her downline, not only with a challenge thrown out there, but with the caring and compassion that she will help you, within her power, to get you where you want to be.  I was like, THANK YOU GOD FOR LISTENING! He sent me a friend to help me breakthrough!  I am feeling pumped not only with my own fitness, but in really growing my own business!  I am not here to sell you anything, however, if you are thinking about buying any beachbody products, why not me?  why go through beachbody informecials, or website?  Not only would you get personal attention, but you would be helping a friend out, plus its a bit cheaper buying through a coach..anyway I digress again....

Specifically, I am calling to all of you who want more out of your lives to be part of my team! I am here, I am committed and I won't let you down!  I told my brother something along the lines, that I was inviting him to join my teambeachbody not just because I want to succeed for myself, but I truly, from the bottom of my heart believe in this business! and if I am confident I can make it work for me, then he knows I wont steer him wrong! I want the same success for him!  When family work  together there is an extra incentive to make things work! Now, I know I am not family to you, and you might say "yeah right" but if this is for you, I won't let you down, I am not going anywhere.  Iam committed to this business.  I want to make more money (I do have 5 kids!) and if I can help you do the same so much the better! we can be a team of truly dedicated people helping others, motivating others...its a good thing, this business is not just about You - there  is no selfishness.  Now don't get me wrong I love my job, I am an accountant at heart and I am very loyal to my current employer (they did bring me back to California), however, I do need to make extra money on the side...who doesn't? so please do contact me if you want to learn more about the beachbody coaching business, how it works I am here to share!
